TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Future presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno established a special team that overseeing the current economic instability issue.
“We will form a special team [in light of] the economic turbulence,” said Sandiaga at Prabowo’s residence, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 13.
The team would take measures to cope with the economic turmoil. According to Sandiaga, the team is aimed at encouraging the public unity in handling the country’s problems and preventing further depressed issues. Therefore, it would enhance the public confidence towards the economy and job employment.
The former Jakarta deputy governor said Indonesia is still suffered from the economic turbulence, not economy crisis. “Pak Prabowo calls us to unite. The nation’s best-talented people will gather to find solutions, especially related to job employment,” Sandiaga added.
He opined the economy issues, particularly faced by the middle and lower middle class, affected the public confidence towards job opportunities. They are lack of confidence and show pessimism on the matter.
Prabowo-Sandiaga’s special team is currently collecting data released by Bank Indonesia as their main sources, including the consumer confidence index on employment availability that displaying pessimism.
“I reported the findings to Pak Prabowo who then said that our economic team must resolve it. Pak Kwik Kian Gie is one of the figures we ask to handle this job employment issue which is now becoming the public concern,” Sandiaga Uno said.
