TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Zanubba Ariffah Chafsoh Rahman Wahid, also known as Yenny Wahid, the daughter of former Indonesian President Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, decided to delay in determining her support for the 2019 Presidential Election. Yenny said that she would hold a national gathering for Gus Dur cadres first.
On September 13, 2018, Yenny welcomed the visit of presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto at her mother, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid's house in Ciganjur, South Jakarta.
"There are several mechanisms before we make a decision. Later on September 23, we will listen to the vision and mission of the two candidates," Yenny said.
On September 23, each pair of presidential candidates will deliver their vision and mission. Yenny will study it together with the Wahid family's organization, namely the Gus Dur Cadre (Barikade Gus Dur) before deciding her political stance.
According to Yenny she and Gus Dur cadres did not have a deadline for the decision. "We have no mechanism to get involved from the start. Different from a party, which has a deadline," Yenny explained.
