TEMPO.CO, London - Indonesia would present as the Country of Honor in the 40th International French Travel Market (IFTM) - Top Resa on September 23-25, 2018. The country would engage 21 local tourism industries in various events of the fair that takes place in Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Nia Niscaya, Tourism Ministry’s marketing deputy director, said on Thursday in London, the UK that Indonesia would showcase art performances such as dances, carnival, henna painting, and bartender and mixologist show who would serve traditional coffee and beverages.
The Tourism Ministry synergized with the Indonesian Embassy in Paris and the Visit Indonesia Tourism Officer (VITO) in France’s leading international B2B (business-to-business) tourism exhibition. The fair showcases tourism industries (travel trade, hotelier, flights) throughout the world as to develop business ties.
“We hope that through business meetings in this travel market, it will increase the arrival of French tourists to Indonesia,” Nia said.
France remains one of the target countries of the Tourism Ministry. In 2016, a total of 250,921 French tourists visited Indonesia, increased by 19.79 percent from the previous year.
Meanwhile, in 2017, the figure rose to 268,989 tourists and so this year, it was expected to hike to 290,000 tourists arrival from France alone.
Over the past few years, the tourist arrivals from Europe regions saw a good trend. Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Russia are the top five European markets for Indonesia. The statistics revealed the market value reached more than 1 million US dollars with the average days of visit at almost two weeks (13.97 days).
Hence, the Tourism Ministry offered several strategic programs during 2018 IFTM - Top Resa namely international package bundle with domestic transportation in tandem with airlines and wholesalers.
