Anies Baswedan Promises to Grant 300mn Bonus to Gold Medalists

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan promises to grant Rp300 million-worth of bonuses to Asian Games 2018 gold medalists that are based in Jakarta which will be realized in October.
“The bonus will be handed to the athletes in October. This is a reward for the achievements shown by Jakarta-based athletes that were triumphant in the Asian Games sporting events,” said Anies Baswedan during the Victor Exist Jakarta Open Junior 2018 at Sunter, North Jakarta last week.

Other than bonuses, Anies also declared his commitment to support the city’s badminton coaching programs. “Badminton has always been the category that successfully took Indonesia in numerous sporting events, including the Asian Games 2018,” he said.
Anies Baswedan said that the Jakarta administration will continue to facilitate athletes to create new potentials that will one day represent Indonesia. The Victor Exit Jakarta Open Junior 2018 is held from September 3 to September 8, which is participated by 897 players from Japan, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia as host.
Prior to Jakarta administration’s Asian Games bonuses, gold medalists of the quadrennial sporting event were rewarded up to Rp1.5 billion from Indonesia’s central government.
