Tourism Ministry to Hold Wonderful Indonesia Synergy Run Event

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism Ministry in tandem with Institute Technology of Bandung (ITB) Alumni Association would hold a running contest dubbed 2018 Synergy Run of Pesona Indonesia (Wonderful Indonesia) on September 16. The event was expected to intensify the promotion of 10 priority tourism destinations or known as 10 New Bali.

A total of 2,500 people would join the run competition. “Tourism Ministry will set a background booth showing 10 New Bali, so participants will feel the atmosphere of various world-class tourism destinations,” Tourism Minister Arief Yahya noted in a written statement Tempo received on Sunday, September 9.

The organizing committee head Abdul Bari expected 2018 Synergy Run would attract foreign and domestic tourists to join the fun run and enjoy the wonderful tourism of new Bali.

The road running race would be held for the second time in collaboration with Indo Race. Three categories of the competition would be 5K, 10K, and 5K custom run.

In the category of the 5K custom run, the participants require to wear traditional clothes, especially from 10 New Bali for higher points. The registration period of 2018 Synergy Run would be closed on September 14.

The Synergy Run running contest with a total bonus of Rp90 million would begin and end in Sapta Pesona Building Tourism Ministry. Arief Yahya explained the 10 New Bali includes Lake Toba, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, Thousand Islands, Borobudur, Bromo-Tengger-Semeru, Mandalika, Komodo, Wakatobi, and Morotai.
