TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi said President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo would give the bonus for 2018 Asian Para Games athletes who win a medal with the same amount as for Asian Games medalists.
“Pak President really concerns on the bonus plan that should equally worth as for Asian Games athletes,” said Imam at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Friday, September 7.
Single gold winners are poised to get Rp1.5 billion, silver Rp500 million and bronze Rp250 million. For the double category, gold winners receive Rp1 billion, silver Rp400 million and bronze Rp200 million. Meanwhile, for the team category, gold medals earn Rp750 million, silver Rp300 million and bronze Rp150 million.
Imam said President Jokowi urged the organizing committee of 2018 Asian Para Games (INAPGOC) to maximize its effort in greeting the delegations, thus disabled athletes from across 42 Asia countries would be happier, spirited, convenience, and motivated to compete in the games.
INAPGOC chief Raja Sapta Oktohari said Jokowi instructed to accommodate disabled athletes as it was to Asian Games athletes and so the same policies would be applied.
Okto mentioned INAPGOC is ready to welcome 5,000 athletes and officials, who 1,100 of them utilize wheelchairs. “INAPGOC, Insha Allah, is ready to hold the first Asian Para Games.”
