KPK Suspects Nicke Widyawati Aware of PLTU Riau-1 Project

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati aware of the procurement process of Riau-1 PLTU (Steam Power Plant) project, in relation to her previous position as the director of State Electricity Company (PLN).
“The witness acknowledges something about the PLTU Riau case. She was aware of either the planning, process, or meetings of the case,” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Tuesday, September 4.

Febri said Nicke as the witness would be asked for an explanation about her knowledge on PLTU Riau project regarding her position as a former PLN Director of Strategic Procurement 1.
Febri also said the investigators need to confirm further about Nicke’s knowledge regarding the cooperation planning scheme.
KPK has scheduled Nicke’s examination as the witness for the suspect Idrus Marham, but Nicke was not present. “It will be rescheduled later,” Febri said.
In the PLTU Riau-I case, KPK has named three suspects; Idrus Marham, the former Deputy Chairman of the House’s Energy Commission Eni Maulani Saragih and the former shareholder of Blackgold Natural Resources Limited Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo.
