2018 GIIAS Makassar Auto Show Opens Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The automotive show 2018 GIIAS Makassar Auto Show opens today, August 21, at Celebes Convention Center, Makassar. The exhibition will last until Sunday, August 26.

The Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers (Gaikindo) secretary Kukuh Kumara said 2018 GIIAS Makassar Auto Show aimed at developing and expanding automotive industry in the country, either in the capital city or other regions.

“GIIAS Makassar Auto Show is part of international automotive exhibitions and part of GIIAS,” said Kukuh in Makassar, Monday, August 20.

Kukuh explained 30 exhibitors will present in GIIAS Makassar, including 10 brands of passenger cars, 2 brands of commercial cars, 2 brands of motorcycle, and more than 17 supporting industries of automotive.

GIIAS Makassar Auto Show Project Director Yusuf Karim Ungsi said the exhibition will be a miniature exhibition from GIIAS in ICE-BSD. “Recent and updated products from automotive industry which are previously displayed in GIIAS 2018 will be presented here,” he said.

Yusuf mentioned the organizing committee has prepared various interesting programs, one of them is in tandem with Rumah Zakat as to distributing aids for victims of Lombok earthquake.

Other programs are free entrance program dubbed VIP Day for VIP guests, community, and association and Free Entry for Sahabat GIIAS for all visitors who have followed GIIAS Makassar and registered in the festival booth.

As usual, GIIAS Makassar Auto Contest will be presented with several events such as Car and Motorcycle Modification, Live workshop modification and audio design, and special performances from numerous vehicle communities.

The ticket of 2018 GIIAS Makassar Auto Show set at Rp10,000 per person. It opens on Tuesday starting 10 am to 6 pm. On Wednesday, August 23 at 12 pm to 9 pm, while on Thursday to Sunday, August 23-26 at 10 am to 9 pm.
