TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2018 International Animation Festival Hiroshima, Japan will focus on Estonian animation as to commemorate Estonia’s centennial celebrations this year. The biennial event will be held on August 23-27, 2018.
The festival is inspired by the tragic city of Hiroshima, which was the nuclear target at the end of World War II. The festival is first established in 1985 in a bid to encourage unity and peace through arts.
Hiroshima Festival is one of the respected animated exhibitions in the world along with Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival, and Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films.
As many as 34 animation programs will be displayed and more than 300 movies will be played. The exhibition will see legendary Estonian animators namely Priit Pärn, Rein Raamat, Riho Unt, Avo Paistik, Elbert Tuganov, among others.
