Sandiaga Runs for VP with Prabowo; Delivers Resignation Letter

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sandiaga Uno will deliver resignation letter as Jakarta deputy governor today after he officially announces his run as vice president candidate, with Prabowo Subianto as the president candidate.
The letter was delivered by Gerindra Party DPD chairman Muhammad Taufik at 10:00 this morning to Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). Taufik is also the deputy speaker of the Council.

Sandiaga Uno had served as deputy governor for nine months alongside Governor Anies Baswedan. Sandi will run in the presidential campaign as the vice president candidate for Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto.
The candidates' pair is supported by Gerindra, PAN and PKS. Prabowo and Sandiaga announced their candidacy last night on August 9 in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, not long after incumbent President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo announced that he will run for presidency with Maruf Amin as his running mate in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
