TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Ministry Budi Karya Sumadi planned to mobilize 300 buses during 2018 Asian Games. The bus was rented through an auction and cost Rp7 billion.
“Asian Games is a major event so, we determine to give full support,” said Budi Karya at athlete dorm, Kemayoran, Thursday, August 9.
Budi explained that 200 buses will be operated in Jakarta while the rest 100 buses in Palembang. Each bus equipped with supporting facilities that can accommodate 47 passengers. The minister expected there would be no complaint regarding the transportation.
The Director-General of Land Transportation Directorate, Budi Setiyadi, said the bus will operate in several points. The ticket is free and it can be downloaded via the website ompreng.com.
The ground handling provider PT JAS Airport Services invested Rp10 billion by providing 5 lower-deck buses in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. “Each bus costs Rp2 billion,” said the company CEO Adji Gunawan today, August 9.
According to Adji, the additional five buses would enhance their service in transferring passengers between terminals during the 18th Asian Games.
