TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin said prospective pilgrims from West Java cannot yet use the West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka. They will be departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
“Kertajati requires hajj dormitory. It cannot be used as an embarkation in 2018,” Lukman said in Jakarta, Saturday, July 14.

The plan to use Kertajati Embarkation cannot be realized in the 2018 hajj season. Minister Lukman said a hajj embarkation airport would need to have a hajj dormitory nearby.
The hajj dormitory for West Java pilgrims is located in Bekasi, which is closer to Soekarno-Hatta Airport than Kertajati.
The Hajj Pilgrimage 2018 (1439 H) will be immediately held with the first departure starts on July 17.
