TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - International rock music performances in Yogyakarta, JogjaRockarta will be enlivened by the presence of Megadeth. The legendary trash metal group from Los Angeles, United States will be performing at JogjaRockarta Festival at Kridosono Stadium, Yogyakarta, October 27.

The presence of Megadeth in JogjaRockarta Festival is the second time after Dream Theater last year, 29 and 30 September 2017.

“JogjaRockarta Festival will present Megadeth, the legendary Thrash Metal from Los Angeles, California, United States, as the main line up," said Anas Syahrul Alimi, CEO and Founder of JogjaRockarta Festival, Saturday, June 30.

Megadeth was started in 1983 by Dave Mustaine. The 35-year-old band has repeatedly dismantled pairs of personnel. Megadeth's current personnel are Dave Mustaine (vocals/guitar), David Ellefson (bass), Kiko Loureiro (guitar), Dirk Verbeuren (drums).

Megadeth has produced 15 record albums with the sales reaching millions of copies. Among them are ‘Killing is My Bussiness... and Bussiness is Good!’ released on June 12, 1985, ‘Cryptic Writings’ released on June 17, 1997, ‘Super Collider’ released on June 4, 2013, and ‘Dystopia’ released on January 21, 2016.

Megadeth is known as The Legend of Metal Trash Band, or better known as The Big Four, which juxtaposed three other great bands Thrash Metal that is very influential like Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax.

In 2017, Megadeth won the most prestigious music awards, Grammy Award, the best metal performance category for 'Dystopia'. In addition, they have been nominated in the same event 11 times. “The appearance of Megadeth in Indonesia is one of the world tour series after they have worked for 35 years,” said Anas.

The presence of Megadeth on JogjaRockarta stage is very unfortunate to be missed. Because Indonesia and the rock music lovers will participate to be recorded in the history of world music as both celebrate the 35th anniversary of Megadeth.

Project Director of JogjaRockarta, Bakkar Wibowo, said that the promoters opened two ticket sales sessions, presale and regular sale. The presale is on June 30, at Legend Coffee Yogyakarta. As for the regular sale will begin on July 9.

The presale ticket is priced at Rp500,000 and the regular ticket is at Rp700,000. Rajawali Indonesia Communication as a promoter cooperates with PT. Melon Indonesia as the exclusive official ticketing partner. “15,000 tickets are provided,” said Samuel May Ratifil, Vice President of Digital Business Development PT. Melon Indonesia.

In addition to Megadeth, as in the previous years, JogjaRockarta will feature a mix of old-school and new-school rock music. This time, it will be enlivened by some national rock bands such as God Bless, Edane, Elpamas, Seringai, Koil, and Blackout.

JogjaRockarta will also always provide space to Yogyakarta as one of the performers. "This time Sangkakala will perform at 2018 JogjaRockarta," Bakkar said.
