Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Angkasa Pura II Communication and Corporate Vice President Yado Yarismano said that people have crowded the Soekarno Hatta Airport several days before the Eid al-Fitr celebration, especially yesterday where there were 1.2 million airline passengers moving in and out of the airport.

“Up until three days before the celebration there were 1.2 million people,” said Yado on Wednesday, June 12.

The state-run airport operator predicts that the 2018 homecoming will see 6.7 million people traveling on airplanes as their choice of transportation. Angkasa Pura II engineering and operations Director Djoko Murjatmojo said that the number is a 10 percent increase compared to last year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration which peaked at 6.1 million people.

“That number is for every airport that is run by the Angkasa Pura II during the Eid celebration,” said Djoko.

Among many new facilities provided by Soekarno Hatta’s Terminal 3 Ultimate is the self-check-in that makes it easier for people to check-in their flights and significantly reduces the queues that often form in front of airline counters.
