TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo explained today, June 12, he planned to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1439 H at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.
Jokowi said he deliberately chose to stay in Bogor because he had never celebrated Eid holiday at the city of rain during his presidential term thus far.
“[I’ve celebrated Eid] in Padang, Aceh and last year at Jakarta. [Thus, this year] in Bogor at our residence,” said Jokowi.
Last year, President Jokowi held the open house in Presidential Palace, Jakarta, after performing Eid prayer at Istiqlal Grand Mosque.
At that time, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY as the candidate of Jakarta Governor visited the palace with his brother Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono.
Furthermore, Jokowi stated he will perform Eid prayer at Bogor Botanical Garden and open the door of the Bogor Palace for the public.
On the evening of Eid al-Fitr, President Jokowi is scheduled to depart to his hometown Solo to celebrate Eid holiday with his family and relatives.
