Sandiaga Uno Presents Report on Asian Games in Ministry Meeting

    TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno attended the ministry`s coordination meeting in an agenda of the security preparation for the 2018 Asian Games. Sandiaga Uno was on behalf of Governor Anies Baswedan who is currently on his official duty overseas.

    In the meeting, Sandiaga presented a report of travel time simulation from athlete dorm to the venues. “The simulation recorded 27 minutes based on the traffic engineering,” said Sandiaga today in Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (PMK) building, Jakarta.

    Also attending the meeting were PMK Coordinating Minister Puan Maharani, National Police Deputy Chief Comr. Gen. Syafruddin, Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) Deputy Head Syafri Syamsuddin, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Education and Culture Minister Muhadjir Effendy, and Indonesian Asian Para Games Organizing Committee Head (Inapgoc).

    Earlier, Jakarta Transportation Agency conducted a simulation of travel time from athlete dorm to the venue such as expanding the area affected by an odd-even policy, opening and closing the road, as well as utilizing the special lane for Asian Games.

    Sandiaga also reported the increase of public’s interest to welcome 2018 Asian Games. “There is progress on the activities we’ve been held such as torch relay. Perhaps we will later conduct dinner gathering with the neighborhood head (RW) and other events to build the awareness of Asian Games throughout Jakarta’s area,” he added.
