TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani expressed her wishes on fasting in Ramadan this year (1439 Hijri year) today, May 16, in a picture of her handwritten letter posted on her Instagram account.
“Tomorrow we will be welcoming Ramadan 1439 H. The holy month that full of grace, bless, and guidance from Allah SWT,” Sri Mulyani noted, Wednesday, May 16.
Minister Sri stated Ramadan is an extraordinary month for the Muslims to perform the fasting that is expected to clean the mind, soul, and behavior.
Sri Mulyani expressed her hopes that all staffs in Finance Ministry can perform the fasting well and spread and sow the goodness, peace, and salvation. "In the real world and cyberspace," she added.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that the first day of Ramadan 1439 H falls on Thursday, May 17, 2018. On Wednesday night, May 16, Muslim community can perform first tarawih prayer. Islamic organizations including Muhammadiyah has also set the beginning of Ramadan on the same date.
