TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia plans to provide additional flights during the 2018 Eid al Fitr holiday, locally known as the lebaran holiday.
Garuda Indonesia Bali General Manager Joseph Adrian Saul said that ticket demands to Bali would usually increase during this holiday period.
“We are still considering the number of extra flights, including the plan to use a wide body airplane,” said Joseph on Tuesday, May 15.
The increase of passengers, according to Joseph, would likely happen seven days before and after Eid al Fitr day. During that time, tickets would be sold out and remaining demands will be fulfilled through the planned additional flights that have been requested.
He further revealed that the number of passengers flying with Garuda Indonesia in this year’s Eid al Fitr holiday is expected to increase by 15 percent compared to normal days. Meanwhile, international flights will not be affected considering that the homecoming or mass-exodus tradition will not affect international flights.
Joseph also revealed that Garuda Indonesia would offer promotional discounts during the Ramadan month, a period where passengers would drop 10-15 percent in average.
