TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Hijabfest 2018 will be held in Bandung, West Java, and Jakarta at the beginning of May. The founder Sheena Krisnawati said the festival is established since the industry of Muslim fashion keeps developing over the years and that also to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

The hijab expo will take place on Wednesday until Saturday on May 2-5, in Bandung and in Jakarta for the first time on May 30 to June 2. “Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population has a huge potential to lead Muslim fashion in the world,” said Sheena in FX Sudirman, Jakarta, Friday, April 27.

Sheena further recalled her experience in attending fashion mode and halal product festival in Turkey last 2011. According to her, the hijab there is very different with the Indonesian's, which is a classic style. “When I’m home [in Indonesia], I saw that the people here can create various designs in more creative ways," she said.

The first Indonesia Hijabfest was held in 2012 in Bandung which aimed at introducing the lifestyle of halal fashion. "In this festivals, there are culinary, concerts, seminars, and fashion shows," Sheena added.

Indonesia Hijabfest will open 117 booths in Bandung and some 60 booths in Jakarta. Visitors can grab the ticket for the festival at Rp12.000; for the concert at around Rp100,000 to Rp150,000; and the seminar ticket at Rp150,000.
