Persija Beat Vietnamese SLNA 1-0 in 2018 AFC Cup

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Persija Jakarta soccer team defeated Vietnamese team of Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) 1-0 in the advanced match of Group H of AFC 2018 Cup, on Wednesday. The single goal was scored by the Brazilian striker, Addison Alves in extra minutes or in injury time (second-half) in a match which was held in the Jakarta's Bung Karno main stadium.

"We continue to concentrate on attacking until the last minute to win, thanks to a goal at the end of the game," said Stefano "Teco" Cugurra, coach of Persija.

The Persija's coach fielded his best players from the beginning of the match such as Marko Simic, Riko Simanjuntak, Ramdani Lestaluhu, Maman Abdurahamn and Jaimerson da Silva.

Having the support of its best players, Persija appear pressing since Hong Kong referee Ho Wai Sing blew the whistle marking the start of the game.

Persija's coach Teco predicted earlier that SLNA to appear with good defense.

Then, it was proved that in the previous three games in Group H of AFC 2018 or before facing Persija in Jakarta, SLNA has never conceded a goal.

The victory over SLNA in Jakarta makes Persija Jakarta now collected seven points from the results of two wins, one draw and one defeat.

According to the AFC official website, it (Persija) ranked second in the 2014 AFC Cup group H standings.

The number of Persija's points equals to the points embraced by SLNA which still sit at the top.
