TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of the escort team members of Merry Utami from the Legal Aid Society, Arinta Dea, stated that there are two last requests from Merry Utami before her execution. She said that Merry wants to see her daughters and two granddaughters.
"She have two granddaughters from Devi (Merry`s second daughter)," said Arinta Dea at the Wijaya Pura port, Nusakambangan, Central Java, Thursday, July 28, 2016. Merry had only see her first granddaughter. "She had met with the 3-year-old one, but has not yet to meet the three-month-old one."
Merry was convicted to death sentence because she was allegedly carrying a 1.1-kilogram heroin in a bag. She was arrested at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Merry claimed that the bag belonged to her male friend of Nepal origins. Merry had already carried out 15-year prison sentence in Tangerang.
She also once wrote an apology letter to President Joko Widodo. The letter that was written in Cilacap, July 26, 2016, consisted of statement of regrets and a request for clemency.
Her execution is planned to be carried out on Saturday at the Limus Buntu Field, Nusakambangan. However, until this moment, her relatives have not yet received the official information of her execution time. "Everything are so vague. There are no certain information of it," said Arinta.
