TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sunny Tanuwidjaja, a staff of Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama denied allegations that he was acting as a middleman that deliver funds from property developer companies responsible for the Jakarta Bay reclamation project and the Jakarta Regional Representatives Council (DPRD).
"It's nothing like that," Sunny said after undergoing an examination at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Sunny claimed that he has no information related to the alleged bribery case involving Jakarta DPRD member Mohamad Sanusi.
"KPK did not asked about the fund," Sunny added. "The questions were simple, about my tasks and functions at the governor’s office."
Sunny said that he was interrogated about his role in the Regional Government Regulation Draft Bill on the Jakarta Bay Reclamation Project and his connections with Mohamad Sanusi. In addition, Sunny said that the investigators were asking him about his relationships with property developer companies. "The point is, I receive information from the developers, and deliver it to the Governor and the executive officials," Sunny explained.
Sunny however, admitted that he had arranged several meetings between developer companies and Ahok. "Pak Ahok can meet them by himself, sometimes he asks me to make a schedule, not always," Sunny said.
