TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta deputy governor Prijanto revealed that Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama had close relationship with his expert staff Sunny Tanuwidjaja in connection with the Jakarta Bay reclamation project.

“Ahok, Sunny and [Agung] Podomoro [Land] (APL) have close relationship,” Prijanto said in Jakarta on Saturday, April 09, 2016.

Earlier on Thursday, April 7, 2016, Ahok claimed that Sunny was his expert staff. Ahok added that he did not assign Sunny with special task, since he was an unpaid intern.

However, Prijanto dismissed Ahok’s claim, saying that Ahok’s close relationship with Sunny was highly irregular. Prijanto said that an intern would be normally employed in an administrative department.

On April 6, 2016, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) imposed a travel ban on Sunny in connection with KPK investigation into a bribery case centering on the deliberation of two bylaws on reclamation.

Sunny admitted that he was aware with the travel ban. Sunny added that he was ready to be summoned by the KPK to provide a statement about the reclamation project.
