Airport Tax Increase Starts on April 2016

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II said that passenger service charge (airport tax) in seven airports in Indonesia will be increased starting on April 1, 2016. The airports subject to the increase include the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, Minangkabau Airport, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Supadio Airport, and Silangit Airport.

"The [airport tax] adjustment will be applied simultaneously in seven airports under our magement," said Agus Haryadi, Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura II on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

Agus said that the increase was based on several considerations including improving airport facilities. In addition, the increase will mainly cover airport tax for domestic flights.

Based on Transportation Minister letter No. PR 303/1/15 PHB 2016 dated January 21, 2016, airport tax in Terminal 1 for domestic flights in Soekarno-Hatta International airport will be increased to Rp. 50,000 from the previous Rp. 40,000. Meanwhile, airport tax in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 for domestic flights of the airport will be increased to Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 60,000, and Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 60,000, respectively.

Meanwhile, the airport tax for Soekarno-Hatta's Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 for international flights will remain at Rp. 150,000, and Terminal 3 Ultimate for international flights will be set at Rp. 200,000.

In Halim Perdanakusuma airport, airport tax for domestic flights will be increased from Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 50,000 while for international flights, the airport tax will remain at Rp. 150,000. In Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II airport in Palembang, airport tax for domestic flights will be increased from Rp. 35,000 to Rp. 50,000 while tax for international flights will remain at Rp. 100,000.

In Minangkabau airport in Padang, airport tax for domestic flights will be increased from Rp. 35,000 to Rp. 40,000 while the international flight's airport tax remains unchanged at Rp. 100,000.

In Aceh, airport tax for domestic flights in Sultan Iskandar Muda airport will be increased to Rp. 35,000 from the previous Rp. 25,000. In Supadio airport, domestic flight's airport tax will be set at Rp. 40,000, increased from the previous Rp. 30,000. Meanwhile, airport tax for domestic flights in Silangit airport in North Tapanuli will be increased from Rp. 8,000 to Rp. 10,000.
