TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Religious Affairs Commission, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, has called on the Police to work as fast as they can to reveal who is the mastermind behind the terror attacks which occurred on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Central Jakarta's Sarinah shopping centre.

Saleh said that the quicker the Police could get down to the bottom of the case, speculation and fear among residents are likely to be ‎easier to contain and mitigate. "People have already spoken out about the attacks - some makes some sense, while others are completely out of this world," said Saleh through a written statement received by Tempo on Friday, January 15, 2016.

According to Saleh, the attacks could have an impact on the national economy - especially considering that the attack occurred in Central Jakarta, which is widely considered as Indonesia's financial hub that is also frequented by tourists alike. "Security needs to be beefed up - especially around vital objects across the capital," he said.

On Thursday, January 14, 2016, explosions rocked Sarinah shopping centre - an attack that is quickly followed by a shoot-out between the perpetrators and security officials. Seven people have been confirmed to have died in the attack, while 24 others are currently receiving treatments for their injuries.

Five of the deceased were the perpetrators of the attack, while the remaining two casualties include one Indonesian citizen, and a foreigner.‎
