Basarnas Deploys 3 Ships, 1 Plane to Evacuate Sunken Marina Ship

TEMPO.CO, Makassar - Head of the Makassar National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Roki Azikin confirmed that Marina Baru 2B passenger vessel sank in Bone Bay, South Sulawesi.
In order to search and evacuate the passengers, Roki said that Basarnas had coordinated with other related institutions.
"The Marina vessel is confirmed to have sunk. Three big ships, 2 rubber boats and one plane have been deployed to search and evacuate the victims,” Roki said to Tempo on Sunday (20/12).
Roki added that three big vessels involved in the evacuation efforts were from Basarnas, the harbormaster, and a privately-owned ship, while the plane deployed in the search and evacuation process is owned by the Indonesian Air Force.
