TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Path will establish a branch office in Jakarta in early 2015 as Indonesia, one of the countries with large number of Path users, is expected to hold a bright future for the company.
"We believe by establishing an office, we can establish communications that can eventually strengthen communities," said Path product manager Shehab Hamad on Thursday, November 13, 2014.
He continued that Path's interest to establish an office in Jakarta is motivated by Indonesian economic growth. The San Francisco-based company also plans to expand partnership network with local digital developers. Shehab said that having an office in Jakarta can improve the company's operational activities in Southeast Asia. However, this office will not serve as the company's regional representative office.
So far, Path has carried out expansion by launching an instant messaging service called Path Talk. Introduced in June 2014, Path Talk allows users to send instant messages, photos and videos, and share locations and stickers.
