TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Heavy rain that has been showering Jakarta since Sunday, January 12, 2014 until today, January 13, has caused a number of streets to flood. As a result, the traffic flow in the Jagorawi Toll Road suffers a total gridlock.
Head of Public Relations for PT Jasa Marga, Wasta Gunadi, said that the main cause of the gridlock is due to the overflow from Cipinang River. "The Cipinang River overflowed at kilometer 4, causing cars difficult to pass through," said Wasta to Tempo, Monday, January 13, 2014.
The gridlock in Jagorawi toll road happened in both directions, from Bogor to Jakarta and vice versa. "The heavy traffic spans up to the Cimanggis toll gate," he said.
Meanwhile, heavy traffics are also happening in the Inner Ring toll road. Vehicles travelling to Grogol got stuck in a congestion starting from Cawang. "The stress points are from Cawang-Tegalparang and from Grogol-Semanggi," said Wasta.
