TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta – During Cebongan shooting trial that was scheduled to present 12 suspects, people in Yogyakarta decided to rally together in front of the Military Court Building II-11 to support the Special Force Command (Kopassus), Yogyakarta. The people provided support by holding up banners and shouting.

"Yogyakarta, known as the students' city, is disgraced by thugs. Long live Kopassus," said Donny P Manurung, coordinator of the rally.

Donny said that people of Yogyakarta expected no intervention during the court proceeding. In addition, he explained that the indictment should not be steered towards human rights issue and Kopassus should not be cornered.

Yogyakarta Civil Society Alliance clearly rejected any Human Rights Freedom Propaganda intervention. The Alliance also accussed organizations like National Commission for Human Rights, LPSK, KONTRAS, and Setara Institute as agitators and propaganda group.
